This is a non-profit ministry run by volunteers to help couples rediscover and reconnect in their marriages. Marriage Encounter is a week-end retreat lead by couples trained in the Encounter process. Couples explore taking an introspective look at self, the marriage relationship, God’s place in your life, and your relationship with family and the community. Volunteer couples share on their own personal marriage experience as they intertwine subject matter throughout the presentations. For Engaged and Marriage Encounter couples, the weekend’s goal is to help couples understand and appreciate one another while deepening their love for one another. This retreat falls under the category of marriage enrichment and preparation for marriage.

This ministry falls under the category of marriage help. Actually, this ministry is a spin-off from Marriage Encounter. The difference is this ministry is geared more towards helping married couples who are having serious problems that are hurting the marriage relationship. It is a more intense program to help couples break down walls and begin to communicate constructively. Couples begin by signing up for a weekend retreat held at a hotel and then continue to meet thereafter for several post sessions. Couples are taught skills in communication, conflict resolution, what forgiveness looks like, what love is, how to build trust and intimacy in their marriage, and what makes each person unique and how their uniqueness affects the marriage relationship. Subjects covered to this regard are family of origin and life’s experiences and choices. Volunteer couples have personally had their own marriage trouble and have been through the program. They have found success in gaining hope for their marriage by using the tools taught by the mentor couples. Couples continue to receive support and encouragement through CORE groups. This ministry falls under the category of marriage help.
